10/03/06 Proposal That the reporting of the 2006 Trans Tasman Challenge, 13 & 14 May, will be done at the end of each competition day. Last year I made contact with Australia and got someone to do a daily report which was emailed to me. This was put on the NZPC Blog and was much appreciated. This initiative of mine was the only one, a kind of last minute arrangement. I propose we take one of the following options:
1 Make pages available on PNZ website
2 Revive the PNZ Blog page for the purpose
3 Make pages available on this Wiki site
4 Put it on the NZPC Blog page
The good thing about a website or Wikisite as opposed to a Blog, is that it can be a permanent record. It is imperative that we decide which one of these it will be, reasonably soon, and let everyone know. This would allow Australian and New Zealand Petanque websites to get the link organised and alert members to this. Thanks for your input. -Tom van B.

Comment 1 I am prepared to put updates up at the end of each day on the NZPC Blog or the NZ Petanque Wiki. I am happy for someone like Brian Smith to put results up on the PNZ Blog or website. The main thing is that we all know where to look for daily results. All that is required is for someone in Levin to email an end-of-day report. This comment has as its main purpose to alert the organisers that this worked well from Australia last year, and we really should be endeavouring to do it again this time around. -Tom van B.
Comment 2 24/03/06 I am glad to see that the PNZ Blog has been revived on March 22, 2006 for what looks like the purpose of keeping everyone informed about the Trans Tasman Cup match (option 2 of my proposal). This PNZ Blog has been dormant since May 28, 2005, so this is really good news! -Tom van B.
Comment 3 15/04/06 Not sure now. As of today a Trans Tasman Cup page has been set aside on the PNZ website as well (option 1 of my proposal). All of this is good news, but some kind of announcement as to what and where would be good. -Tom van B.
Comment 4 On 09/05/06, I emailed Brian Smith:
"Hi Brian,
Are there going to be any daily Trans Tasman reports available on the
Web during May 13/14?
Cheers, Tom."
Here is his reply.
What makes me so angry
is that everyone has seen this proposal (including Brian Smith). I do not expect people to make contributions, but I do expect to get a simple answer to a simple email question. I have spent a lot of my time positively publicising Petanque in New Zealand. From the general Petanque public I have received nothing but praise. Unfortunately from PNZ I have had nothing but negative comments, and stonewalling. -Tom.
Comment 5 It is rather ironic that twenty-four days later the PNZ website still has not got beyond giving the score of day one (see screenshot from PNZ website below, taken today 07/06/06). -Tom van B.

Comment 6 Given the length of the "reply" in "Comment 4", the results are probably still undergoing "Stage 1" of the "Communications Strategy", that is, "Moving the Results from the Terrain". - Maurice
