Result Club Members Only Mixed Doubles Tournament

Held at Cockle Bay Sunday 20th April 2008

 

A chilly afternoon but very pleasant playing conditions

A pool of 12 couples entered the competition, we played 4 games instead of 3 games

and a final between the highest scoring teams.

Cliff & Avril won 4 games which made them clearly the winners of the day.

Peter & Norma played Jayne & Alan in their last game which finished in a tie.

they had to play one more end to decide who came 2nd or 3rd.

 

Here is the final result:

 

1st Avril & Cliff 4 wins + 32

2nd Norma & Peter 3 wins + 15

3rd Jayne & Alan 3 wins + 15

4th Rita & John B 3 wins + 0

5th Joan & Barry 2 wins + 3

6th Kath & Tom 2 wins + 2

7th Truus & Tony 2 wins - 4

A beautiful mild evening, although the grounds were very wet from the

previous day of rain and difficult to play, out of a pool of 12 teams only

one team managed to win 3 games. Judith & Jeannette.

Because the days are getting shorter, the final had to be played in the dark

at round about 8 O clock. if it wasn't for our newly installed floodlights

we wouldn't have been able to finish off in style.

 

The final was being played between Barry & Tony v. Judith & Jeannette score 13-9

 

1rst Barry & Tony 2 wins +15

2nd Judith & Jeannette 3 wins + 22

3rd Norma & Tony 2 wins +14

4th Peter & Jim 2 wins +11

5th Colleen & Phil 2 wins +7
